Article 4 – Video Marketing – How to Get Traffic to Your Video and Make Insane Amounts of Money

OK, making a killer video is one thing, but getting people to watch your video is another. In this, my fourth and last video marketing article, I am going to discuss ways to drive viewers to your video and make insane amounts of money.

Up Load Your Video To Video Marketing Websites

You tube is arguably the most celebrated video marketing site on the planet. So it goes without say that uploading your video there is an absolute must. But let me go a step farther. Have you ever heard of the free site called Tube Mogul? Tube Mogel is a really cool site. Once you sign up, you can upload your video to several sites at once. You first have to register at all of the sites, a one-time process that takes about 30 minutes. The sites include YouTube, Metacafe, Veho, Blip.tv, Daily Motion, Yahoo, and MySpace. Once registration is complete, up load your video to Tube Mogul and Tube Mogul will upload your video to each of the sites. How cool is that? Then anytime you have another video to distribute, you just go back to Tube Mogul and upload it and your done.

Also, if you have a website or blog, that would be another good place to post your video. Uploading the video to your blog or website is very easy to do after you have it saved at Camtasia.

Marketing Your Video

Getting your video uploaded to all of the sites is only half of the battle. Now you need to drive traffic to your video. This is done in several ways. First, social media page sites like Buzzle, Facebook, Digg, Stumbleupon, and Spurl, just to name a few, are a good place to start. Again you have to register with each of the sites you use. After that, post using a hyperlink back to the video site of choice (like YouTube).

Article marketing is another way to drive viewers to your video. Pick a topic and write an article again with a hyperlink back to your video in the author resource box. Some article directories allow hyper links in the body of the article.

If you are a fan of Squidoo (like I am), you can develop a lens at Squidoo with good content and a link to your video.

Finally, US Free Ads are widely viewed and free or very inexpensive (depending on how many ads you want to post). Just make an ad describing your video and have a link back to your video.

So that is it. I hope you have enjoyed my video marketing article series and have gotten something that you can put to use immediately.

Email Marketing Tips – Increasing Open Rates

Email marketing is what makes or breaks most affiliate marketers. Even if your affiliate sales through your pre-sell pages are a little below where you want them, if you are growing a responsive list you can still come out on top. The key to effective email marketing is to get people on your list to open your emails.

You’ve seen all of the subject lines. Most email marketers make outrageous claims in their subject lines to encourage subscribers to open their emails. The problem is that after receiving email after email filled with nothing but affiliate links and hype, people quit opening them. Worse than that–they unsubscribe!

How can you keep your subscribers happy? How can you keep them opening your emails? Here are a couple tips. First, provide value in your emails. Every one must provide them with something of value. Sure, you can toss a couple of affiliate links in them, but don’t overdo it. And every email must provide them with a useful tip related to the niche you are operating in.

Provide them with value and your open rates will be much higher than otherwise. Also, once in a while provide them with some kind of bonus. It doesn’t have to be huge, but provide them with some kind of report, maybe just a few pages that they can download. This too will help.

Another trick is to provide scarcity in your email title. You could say something like “Free download for 24 hours only.” Have a free report they can download and after 24 hours pull the download link.

A few subscribers may complain that they didn’t open the email within 24 hours. But don’t give in. What you want to do is to train your subscribers to open your emails immediately rather than putting it off. Doing this once in a while can drastically improve the open rates you achieve!

Again, direct email marketing is all about value. By providing value you establish a degree of trust with your subscribers. And the more they trust you, the more likely it is they will buy from you at some point. So many affiliates send out so much junk email to their lists that if you just put yourself ahead of the crowd a little bit, you will likely find that not only do the open rates of your emails improve, your sales improve as well.

And one final thing, if you offer them something for free in your subject line, make sure you give them something that is absolutely free. Don’t make it a thinly veiled promotion for something you are promoting. That makes subscribers mad and it won’t help your future open rates.

Mortgage Lead Generation Tips For 2010

Mortgage lead generation should be considered one of the most important activities a loan officer can engage in. Without a reliable source of fresh and qualified prospects flowing in each week, your pipeline, and ultimately your pay-check will suffer.

Unfortunately, this subject is often put on the back-burner for many loan officers, as they seek out a fast and easy solution such as purchasing leads, or paying for expensive mail drops, and other strategies that are pitched to the originator as “turn-key” solutions to closing more loans.

You know how that usually works out right? A good mortgage lead generation plan is typically going to require a bit more than just writing a check to a service provider. Think of it this way; if the service really delivers great mortgage leads, then how long do you think it will take before that particular service becomes saturated with long lines of loan officers wanting in? It won’t take long before this once effective source is watered down. There are only so many pieces of mail that can be sent, and only so many times a lead can be sold before the borrowers get frustrated.

So what’s the solution? Should we simply throw in the towel and look for another career? Not a chance!

Mortgage Lead Generation Tip #1

Let the borrowers come to you. Think about it. Are you at your most friendly when a telemarketer calls you to sell you on a new credit card protection plan? If you’re like me, then I doubt it. We don’t like to be interrupted with sales pitches. Neither do your prospects. But how about when you actually need a service badly enough to go in search for it? Now are you more likely to listen to what the sales person has to say?

Of course! The same is true of your borrowers. In most cities, there are hundreds, if not thousands of borrowers who take the time to visit a search engine online and perform a search for mortgage loans. These people are serious enough to take time out of their days to search for and research the topic of mortgage loans. Wouldn’t you say this makes these people far more qualified leads than those you would cold call?

Imagine if you had a strategy as part of your lead generation campaign that put you in front of these people at the very moment they performed these searches? Are you seeing the potential here?

Mortgage Lead Generation Tip #2

Have a Call To Action. I took a little trip across Google looking at dozens of mortgage websites. Can you guess what I found? Most of them look, and sound as if they were written by the same organization. I’d be hard pressed to find a single site that stood out. All of them brag about great service on the front page, and then excitedly point out that I can apply for a free mortgage quote.

What’s so special about that? Think like a borrower. Will he or she see this as an amazing opportunity to get a quote? Nearly every single website offers this service, and I have yet to find a site that charges for it, so why is a big deal being made about the fact it is free?

The claims of great service are also cliché. Have you ever run across a loan officer who warns his prospects that his service is mediocre at best? Not a chance! In other words, these are the sorts of messages that go in one ear and out the other. They blend you in with everyone else. If you want a mortgage lead generation campaign that delivers something other than the same old results you’re tired of, you need to think of a few calls to action that make your prospects excited.

This could be a list of tips, warnings, an e-book, a guide… If you’re marketing online, you can create an audio clip or video. There are numerous ways to draw your prospects in without sounding like every other loan officer and mortgage company on the block.

Many originators are searching desperately for a reliable way to self-generate their own mortgage leads.

Credit Card Debt Elimination – How to Find Low Cost Debt Relief Programs

Some people are keen in knowing how much arrear reduction is possible as this is the primary aim of them. For knowing the reduction in arrear, you can use a tool that needs the interest rate of the credit card, the balance in the credit card and also the monthly payment (minimum value). This needs to be done for all the cards that a person possesses. Assuming that a person is interested in a fixed monthly payment, he can view the duration for which he needs to make the payment.

For some, credit card debt elimination is all about paying off the arrears in a set duration. For such people, the amount that needs to be paid is the information that is needed. You can fill up a counseling form and receive advice free of cost. This will be the right step forward for managing your financial situation efficiently. Credit card debt elimination starts with the reply received for the request placed for the arrears counseling.

As soon as you avail the services of the firm that specializes in arrear elimination, you can be sure about leaving arrear related worries behind and at the same time avoid the situation of becoming bankrupt. The help that you receive can be used for reducing the payments that needs to be done month after month or reducing the rate of interest as much as possible.

Some of the methods that can be adopted to come out of arrear are reducing interest rates, calculating minimum balance and paying more than that and also concentrating on your efforts for paying up arrears related to high interest rates first before the others. Some believe that it is better to settle the arrears using the expertise of some companies. This may be costly as some of these companies charge a higher fee. The best way to solve credit card arrear problems is to use the solution that is the most cost effective compared to the others. You have to find the root cause of the problem that is leading you to arrears and fix it first.

Learner Engagement – Ten Strategies For Success

I could swear my watch was going backwards. This had to be the most boring lesson ever. The tutor had his back to us; he was writing mathematical formula on the whiteboard and muttering to himself. I was the fortunate one. Here to observe the tutor, I could leave after 1 hour. The official learners were not so lucky. They were trapped here for a further 2 hours and not one person was engaged in the learning process. The damage caused by this tutor could have far reaching consequences. It could have an impact on their next piece of course work, affect the classification of their results and, more importantly, influence their engagement with the subject for the rest of their lives. The disappointing thing was that this tutor did not know how dismal this experience was to us at the receiving end.

So what should learning professionals do to improve engagement?

1. Select activities that are at a correct level of difficulty and are motivating, interesting and stretching to the learner. It is important to consider the learners’ interests, prior knowledge, current skills levels and attention span. Another lesson I observed was on materials and their properties. In this case the tutor, a subject matter expert and skilled educator, quickly established that one of the class had worked in a plastics factory and had unique first hand experience of handling such materials. This information was used to great effect. It enhanced the session and added value in ways that could not be envisaged at the start of the class. This leads onto the next point:

2. The more opportunities learners have to respond to particular information or to practice a skill, the better their understanding of that subject or skill. When learners are actively involved in an activity, for example, writing, solving a problem, doing an experiment, in contrast to being passively involved, for example, just listening to a tutor, greater gains are made.

3. To enhance understanding it is important to contextualise learning so that learners can apply the principles to everyday situations. For this, education providers need to have an effective employer engagement strategy; one that is flexible and responsive to the needs of industry. Employers should be encouraged to help with the design, management and delivery of relevant segments of the curriculum; organise visits to their business premises; give access to live data and provide resource packs.

4. Learning plans to personalise the learning for each student is an important strategy to improve engagement. To achieve this work needs to be organised in a way that satisfies different levels of ability and rates of progress. It could mean providing extra tasks for a higher level pass, additional material for people struggling to grasp the content or another opportunity to practice a certain skill to gain proficiency and achieve success.

5. Good classroom management also has an impact on learner engagement. Sessions should start at their scheduled time. The tutor should be well prepared ahead of time and should begin by giving learners a clear statement of the lesson’s aims. To minimise inappropriate behaviour, tutors should have clearly stated rules, expect and reward appropriate behaviour, be consistent, and handle inappropriate behaviour efficiently. As such, there should be a sensible limit to the number of times learners can go the bathroom, visit their locker, listen to their MP3 players and engage in other distracting activities.

Learning time can be seriously eaten into if discussions are allowed to drift from the point of the lesson. This can be tutor or learner instigated but who ever the villain, valuable time can be lost and learning ‘switched off’. It really does not take much for this to happen.

6. Learner involvement. The publication, Further Education: Raising Skills, Improving Life Chances, published in March 2006 states ‘We know that when learners participate in decisions affecting their learning experience, they are likely to play a more active role in the provider’s quality improvement processes – a key lever of service improvement’. This is particularly important as the Government’s priorities are; to increase success rates and encourage progression; narrow the gap in educational achievement between young people from different backgrounds; prepare for the raising of the participation age to 17 and then 18 by 2015 and generally raise the quality of provision across all providers.

Increased involvement, which covers a wide variety of practices that seek to enable, equip and motivate learners, is called the ‘learner voice’ and this is an important feature of any engagement strategy. This can include having learner governors, student representatives on committees and curriculum review boards. The ‘learner voice’ has to be considered in the self assessment review (SAR) process. Learners are encouraged to collaborate and challenge assertions made in the SAR in relation to the organisation’s strengths, weaknesses and quality improvement plans.

A wider range of learners can be involved by asking them to complete course review and evaluation forms and for smaller numbers to take part in focus groups. The latter tool is particularly useful as it allows more qualitative information to be gathered than is found on standard questionnaire based surveys and this can provide more valuable insights.

Whether learners remain involved over time will depend on how the information is used and the outcomes communicated. If learners feel that the organisation is merely going through the motions and is not truly taking into account their ideas they will become sceptical and will quickly disengage from future activities.

7. The above will not happen without improved pastoral and other support. Help will be needed to undo prior barriers to learning and all advice must be impartial and realistic. Pastoral support should be offered at an earlier stage and at key transition points for learners who are identified as being at risk of ‘drifting’ away from education before achieving their qualification goals. This could also have an impact on their future opportunities for employment. There is a need to boost learning and achievement and provide a healthy stretch to ambition. The use of mentors, role models and peer support can greatly encourage engagement.

8. Tutors and support staff who are involved in developing the knowledge, skills, attitudes and confidence of young learners should undertake regular and relevant professional development activities that focus on learner engagement.

9. There should also be effective dialogue between tutors and the parents and carers of learners. The key messages must be effectively communicated between the parties and learners should understand the responsibility they have in the learning process and the possible consequences if they take the decision to disengage.

And finally

10. As always, good practice should be disseminated widely to communities of practice across the sector.

Networking Undefined

Although it may seem counterintuitive, mastering the art of networking requires you to first understand what networking is NOT.

- Networking is not about schmoozing, a term that implies insincere flattery and attention.
- Networking is not about having two meetings, then asking for a career boost.
- Networking is not about exploiting others to get what you want.
- Networking is not about you.

To put it bluntly: networking has never been and will never be about you. Networking is about developing a genuine curiosity towards others and finding ways to add value to their lives. The essence of networking intelligently is captured in a quote by Winston Churchill: “You make a living by what you get; you make a life by what you give.” Those that understand the golden rule of networking (that it’s about giving value to others) will attain great success. Those that don’t will walk a lonely way.

Now that we know what networking ISN’T, it’s time to ask yourself: “Why do I need to network?”

Why is networking important? Because in this world, who you know often matters much more than what you know. Not convinced? Here are three statistics that will help reframe your thinking:

+ Employee referrals are the #1 external hiring source.
+ Job seekers applying for a position with an employee referral are 70x more likely to be hired than without one.
+ Fortune 500 companies solicit their employee base for candidates 4 – 6 weeks before ever posting a job online or through other recruitment channels.

The value of networking has been proven in reams of publicly available research. Frameworks for valuing professional networks have also been created [one such framework was developed by David Teten in The Virtual Handshake]. So, now that we understand the value proposition of networking, let’s explore the “why”. Why do we network? Quite simply, because job security is a relic of the past. To companies, human capital is viewed the same way as capital expenditures – an expense that can be cut when necessary. We network so that we have the relationships in place to help us whenever we need it. We network because the assistance of others is often required to reach a higher level of career success. We network because it works [re-read stats above].

The Supervisor’s Motivational Toolkit

There are seven factors that have a high potential for increasing employee motivation. If a supervisor sets employees up for success and provides feedback so that the employees know when they are successful, that will increase the employees’ confidence in their abilities.

In addition, when a supervisor relates desired job performance to specific employee interests, keeps employee concerns at a reasonable level, and maintains positive feelings in the workplace, that supervisor can help employees view job performance as its own reward rather than as a means to an end.

1. Extrinsic-Intrinsic Motivation

When employees work in order to gain something else, they are operating from an extrinsic motivation. For example, employees may first come to a job simply to get a paycheck (an extrinsic reason).

However, if the employees feel valued, have sufficient challenge, and are successful in the job, they may start to come to work because they feel good about the job itself (an intrinsic reason). Employees have intrinsic motivation when they receive satisfaction from the work itself.

Converting extrinsic employee motivation to intrinsic motivation is the key to creating a self-directed workforce. In order to accomplish this, a supervisor can employ any of the remaining six motivational factors.

2. Success

Human beings prefer tasks that they can perform successfully, rather than tasks at which they are unsuccessful. Dr. W. Edwards Deming, the quality management guru who is credited for Japan’s economic recovery after World War II, said that: “85% of an employee’s ability to perform successfully on the job depends upon the system.”

By the system, he meant the company structure, its policies and procedures, its culture, as well as its management style. A supervisor can set employees up to be successful by giving complete instructions, sufficient resources, necessary training, and constructive feedback.

3. Feedback

Employees know if they are performing successfully when they receive feedback. This feedback, which may be oral or written, can come from their supervisor, peers or customers. However, employees can also determine their own success if they have specific, observable and measurable performance standards against which to evaluate their own performance.

Employees need specific feedback about what they are doing well, so that they can continue to repeat that effective performance. Supervisors should also provide specific constructive feedback that will help employees clearly understand what they need to do to improve their performance, when necessary.

When employees know that they have been successful, based on the feedback that they receive, the result is a boost to their self-confidence.

4. Confidence

Employees are more likely to be confident about achieving success when they believe that success is within their control. A supervisor can set employees up for success by clarifying what performance level is expected, ensuring sufficient training and resources to achieve that performance, and providing ongoing specific and constructive feedback about their performance.

Successful job performance that is validated by feedback will result in increased employee confidence in their ability to perform. Employee confidence can reinforce their potential interest in assuming additional and possibly greater responsibilities.

5. Interest

Employees will be more motivated to perform well if what they are asked to do is directly related to something that interests them. These compelling interests and needs will obviously vary, depending on the individual employee. Supervisors who do not already know what interests their employees will have to ask them. Getting increased visibility, input into decision-making, experience necessary for promotion, or the opportunity to help others might be attractive to some employees and not to others.

A supervisor has to be careful not to misread employees’ interests in order to avoid unduly raising employees’ concern. For example, some employees may appreciate a more challenging assignment, while other employees might feel anxious and overwhelmed by such an assignment.

6. Concern

Employees need to have a moderate level of concern in order to expend sufficient effort to perform satisfactorily. If they do not care about performing well, their supervisor may need to raise their concern by pointing out the consequences of continued unacceptable performance.

If the employees are highly anxious, due to real or perceived risks involved, they will not be able to perform effectively until the level of concern is reduced. For example, if employees are highly concerned about changes on the job, a supervisor might lower their concern by giving them some control over the change process.

7. Feeling

If employees have a comfortable and supportive work situation, they will be more inclined to put forth effort to perform. For this reason, it is important for a supervisor to create and maintain a work atmosphere where employees feel valued for their abilities, supported in their actions, and respected by their peers.

Employees who have been set up for success, know they are successful based on the feedback they have received, feel confident in their ability, recognize that their performance satisfies a compelling need, and have an appropriate level of concern, will have a good feeling about their work. All of these factors will increase the probability of intrinsic employee motivation. The performance of the job will be satisfying in itself, rather than as a means to an end.

Laptop Prices On the Fall, Get One While You Can

Laptop prices have definitely come down significantly. The cost really was quite prohibitive up until around two thousand and eight when the prices started coming down quickly.

What Drives the Price

The simple answer to what drives the price is technology. The newer the technology the higher the price, but technology is changing so quickly that what was new six months ago is now old, and for obvious reasons they are not going to just throw the old items out they will sell the models with the “older” technology at a reduced price.

Market supply and demand will also drive the price. If an item is in high demand and manufacturing standards can’t keep up than the odds are that the price will be higher, because people are willing to pay more for an item when it is scarce, the vendors know this so they charge more money.

There are also add on items that may drive the cost of the laptop up, like a built in camera for video conferencing, a remote control so that the laptop can be used to watch television.

The size of the memory and the screen size also will play a role in laptop prices. Typically the more memory and the larger the screen the more expensive it will be. The newer the technology that is implemented into the laptop the higher the price will be, the more add on technology the higher the price will be, the price is generated by not only the type of technology but the amount of technology that goes into the laptop.

Approximate Costs

The prices ranges greatly an older model laptop can be had for around four hundred dollars. A top of the line newer model with all the latest technology can run into the thousands. It is entirely relative to the available features and the level of the technology.

Purchasing Sources

There are plenty of vendors that sell laptops. All electronic stores will sell laptops, most discount box stores will also sell them.

There are also some models that can be purchased online. A great source for laptops in the online auction sites where there are both new and used models available.

Comparison shopping and reading customer reviews can go a long way in making a good choice.

Laptop prices will continue to fall as technology improves further and becomes more available. Soon enough there will be a laptop in every home because they will be affordable to everyone.

With more sophisticated technology becoming commonplace in our society, laptop prices are falling, and the average consumer can get them too. Whether it’s taking the office with you, doing research anytime, or just occupying yourself on a long trip, the decreasing laptop prices signal your chance to get your very own.

Choosing a New Domain – The First Step to Start Your Online Business

Once you decide that you want to sell your own product online and have decided which products to sell, the first step is to decide the name of the business. Choosing the right Domain name is very important for your site as it is your business address on the Internet. Try to select a domain that gives the public an idea what your business is all about.

Using your primary key word as your domain name or a word or phrase that hints to your product or relates to your brand is easily remembered by your market and much easier to find on the world wide web. With your domain name the web host cannot hold you hostage. You can easily move your site to another host while keeping your domain name.

In case you ever face a situation that you have to move your website to another place, customer will still automatically find you because your domain name has not changed. You could choose a domain name that clearly identifies what your company sells or does.

When choosing a domain name:

a. keep in mind that you can only use letters and numbers but cannot use special characters like & etc. Your domain cannot began with a hyphen but you can use a hyphen in between words.

b. Keep your name short and memorable. It is important to find a name that is not only catchy but also easy to spell remember pronounce and type. You want people who just catch a glimpse of your domain name and remember too when they sit down in front of their computer. Try to keep three words maximum
None traditional name is a big negative to get a bigger market, as many potential visitors of your market will not remember how to reach to your site.

c. Include your search engines optimization by including keywords in your domain name. You will be ahead of your market when they are looking for a solution to their problem if you uses exactly the primary key word to your market.

How and where to search for a suitable domain name. There are several great tools on the Internet that you can use to look for the domain name.

1. Word Tracker
Word tracker has a trial version also and now they have a free URL for Google trends too.

2. Domain Tools
This site is also free and it lets you enter your keywords into “Domain Tools” look up. In case you already have a name in mind and it is already taken, this site will help you find who is using a particular name that you want to use.

3. Yahoo and Google search marketing
Here you may find help in choosing domain names by using their key word tools.

4. Name Boy
This site lets you type in your keywords and this tool will produce an extensive list of potential domain names. And you may choose the domain name you like from there.

Choose “com” to register.

When you register a domain name always register a com, as this is the most popular and automatic on fingers to type while trying to type a web address to go to.
Many times your site will not come up because of this situation and you will be losing on potential customers. Besides “com” the next popular domain is “org” and “net” now the new owners of GDI are making “ws” familiar to the new Internet business owners.

The Internet corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) is the nonprofit. corporation that was formed to assume responsibility for the domain names system. You can find an up to date list of available top level domain

Register Domains with or without hyphens

Grab the domain names without hyphens. A good reason to use hyphens is if your company or product name is confusing when spelled as one word. It is much easier to read a name with no hyphens. If you are starting a new business try to search popular key words and see what domains you can register before you name it. You want your domain and business name to ultimately reflecting who you are and what you do.

Sub Domains:

If you already have your domain and you cannot find one that has the keywords you want to focus on, you can take advantage of a sub-domain which is anything that comes before the main domain. For example if your domain is your name “com”, you can create a sub-domain, you may create a sub domain as “list.building.your name.com”

However, once you have a domain name registered, keep your contact information up to date, as you want to be notified when your domain is expiring.
